LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The Lanark Highlands Youth Centre would like to acknowledge that the land on which we operate and serve is directly located within the traditional territory of Shabot Obaadjiwan First Nation and the Snimikobi Algonquin First Nations. We ask that you join us in a moment to honour and reflect on First Nations, Inuit and Métis care for and teachings of our Mother Earth. We honour the loss and grief experienced by indigenous youth, families and communities brought on by injustice and we seek ways to prevent further injustice. We share gratitude for the many opportunities and responsibilities that the privilege to serve on this sacred land allows us. We seek ways to learn about and promote truth and reconciliation within our organization and community with a goal of better generating inclusive spaces for all.
